Noah Hennigar
Died at Ann Arbor following an operation last Saturday.
Noah Hennigar died at Ann Arbor, Saturday, Jan 13 of pneumonia following an operation for the removal of a growth on his neck, which was performed the Tuesday previous.  Following the operation he rallied and hopeas entertained for his ultimate recovery but his advanced age and weakened condition was unable to withstand the attack following the ordeal which he had been through.
The remains were brought to Oscoda and funeral services were held from the home of his son Chas. S. Hennigar, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Blatchford, pastor of the Episcopal Church at East Tawas conducted the service, whih was very impressive.  Fred Yockey sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and at the conclusion of the minister's address, he sang "The Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."  The sons, George, John, Charles, William, Noah and David acted as pall bearers.
A large concourse of friends in carriages followed the remains to their last resting place.
Noah Hennigar was 73 years of age.  He was born near Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He came to Oscoda in 1867 and had lived here continuously since up to the time of the fire, when he went to live with his son Georg, at Port Huron.  Nine children, seven sons and two daughters survive him.
Noah Hennigar was a strong character and in years past wielded a considerable influence politically and otherwise in the affairs of the town.  For a number of years he held the office of Justice of the Peace andt various times held other positions of trust.
