BURNS, Frank Sanford
Of Upper Kennetcook. It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Frank Sanford Burns, age 82, on Sunday, August 10, 2014, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Frank was a son of the late Ruben and Gertrude (Dickson) Burns and grew up in Upper Kennetcook. Frank worked for Tidewater Construction for 39 years and retired in 1991. After retirement, he and Vera spent many summers camping which they enjoyed very much. Frank cherished his family and loved each one of them with all his heart. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Vera (Beach); his children, Dorothy (Murray), Lois Rush, Grant (Marg), Darlene (Roy), Cathy (Joe), Jean (Amos), Charlotte (George), Chrissy (Larry), Robbie (Chrystal); brothers, Edmund (Helen), Emmerson (Barb); sister, Bernice (Gilbert); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by son, Gordon; daughter, Carolyn; a baby in infancy; brothers, Walter, Albert, Laurie and son-in-law, Bruce Rush. In keeping with Frank's wishes there will be no visitation or service by his request and a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 354, Kennetcook.
