Bud Miller, 57, who had been a resident of Forest Grove for the past 52 years, died Friday, March 24 at the Forest Grove Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral was held at the Fuiten Mortuary Chapel, Forest Grove, Tuesday March 28 with Rev. Ivan Marble, minister of the Gales Creek Community Church, officiating. Concluding rites and vault interment were at the Forest View Cemetery with Willard Jones, Fred Haage, William McCord, Elmer Spooner, Levi Brecken and Albert Kruger serving as pall bearers.
Mr. Miller was a native of Webb, Saskatchewan where he was born July 17, 1914, the son of the late Wilford and Bessie Potter Miller. He came with his family to Forest Grove when he was 5 years old and received all of his education in the Forest Grove schools. He then worked for many years as a carpenter following commercial construction in the Portland area. Mr. Miller later worked as a carpenter in the maintenance department at Tektronix for 10 years before he retired two years ago due to poor health.
He married Caroline Horlacher at Vancouver, Washington on June 3, 1938 and they lived for 29 years on Elm Street in Forest Grove before moving to their present home on Pacific Avenue seven months ago. Mr. Miller loved the out of doors and did considerable camping and fishing and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Hillsboro.
Surviving is the widow, Mrs. Caroline Miller, Forest Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Jeanee) Bosacci, Port Costa, California; a son, Roger Miller, Beaverton; and five grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Stanley Miller, Beaverton and two sisters Mrs. Alice Jones, Redmond and Mrs. Gayle (Audrey) McLean of Grants Pass.
