BEATTIE, Emma Rebecca 'Beckie'
In her 90th year, of Truro, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2014, in Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born September 2, 1924, in East Noel, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Viola (Singer) Densmore. Beckie was a devoted daughter, fun-loving sister, loving mother, doting grandmother and cherished friend. She was a community minded person, helping with church suppers, CGIT, etc. She was a member of South Maitland United Church and the UCW. She was a hardworker and an excellent cook, who made everyone feel welcome at her table. Mum loved her flower gardens, playing cards and dancing, but she especially loved her family. She is survived by daughters, Marsha (Darrel) Burgess, Lower Truro; Raylaine (Peter) Lenaghan, Upper Tantallon; son, Norman (Heather) Beattie, Truro; granddaughter, Melissa (Justin) Blaauwendraat; brother, Eldridge (Ruby) Densmore, Bedford; sisters, May Shunamon, Mattie (Eric) Boyd, both of Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. Beckie was predeceased by her loving husband, Doug, of 68 years; brothers, Wilmont Densmore, Dalton Densmore and sister, Velma Mumford. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Cook, Ann McKim and staff at Vimy Court for their kind and com-passionate care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception to follow. Private family interment service in South Maitland United Church Cemetery.
