HENNIGAR, Bertha Ferne ? 92, Kennetcook, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2009, at home. Born September 13, 1917, in Advocate, she was a daughter of the late Orin and Gertrude (Morris) Milberry. Bertha enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, playing cards and cheering on her Blue Jays as well as socializing with her family and many friends. She was a member of Kennetcook United Church and will be dearly missed by all. Bertha is survived by her sons, Leland "Lee" (Betty), Charles (Diane) both of Kennetcook and Glyn (Susan), Barrington; grandchildren, Dawn, Tracy, Angela, Karen, Mark, Steven, Amie, Garry, Beth and Denyse; 10 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Clara Boyd, Waterloo, Que. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney; infant son, Douglas and daughter, Judy; brothers, Robie, Eldridge, Garfield; sisters, Elsie, Hazel, Hallie, Evelyn, Nettie, Marguerite, Doris, Gladys and Stella. Cremation has taken place with visitation 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Kennetcook United Church, Kennetcook, Chuck Paterson LPM officating with a private family burial in East Noel Cemetery. A reception to follow in Kennetcook Fire Hall, Kennetcook. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Bertha can be made to Kennetcook United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dawn and Trudy for their daily visits with their grandmother while in the hospital, as well as others who visited.
