  Chronicle Herald, Halifax, May 2012. ETTINGER, Ernest Franklyn 'Doug' ?  89. Passed away May 25th, 2012, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memo-rial Building, QEII (Cedar Crest), Halifax. Doug was a veteran of the Second World War. He was born in Noel Road, a son of late Ernest and Edith (Haines) Ettinger. He lived in Ontario and Truro most of his life. Doug owned and raced No. 37 at the Nine Mile River dirt track. He loved to talk about cars (Chevy), and NASCAR. Doug is survived by his sisters, Mayme (Al) Wile, Falmouth; Aileen Green, Truro; brother, Cecil Ettinger, Truro; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Charles (Pat), Lester; sisters, Myrtle, Mildred, Almina, Leona. Cremation has taken place under the care of Donald K. Walker, Funeral Director.
